“The decision to move the 3GSM World Congress Asia to Macau has been taken for many reasons. Chief among them is the need to innovate and move with the rapidly changing dynamics of the mobile industry in Asia, in particular, the importance of being closer to China, Korea and Japan, the technology and innovation powerhouses of the region,” said Craig Ehrlich, Chairman of the GSM Association.
“As a gateway location to northern Asia, Macau is rapidly becoming the entertainment centre of the region, with purpose-built facilities that have the potential to help achieve our vision of developing and extending this, the most important mobile event in Asia,” he added.
The GSM Association has selected the new Venetian hotel and convention centre in Macau for the Congress, which will be held from 12 - 15 November 2007.
“The 2007 Congress will be a fitting and unique showcase for the vision, leadership and vitality of the Asian mobile industry to the wider world,” said Ehrlich.
